During D23, concept art was revealed for the new attraction, featuring Ford’s likeness, coming soon to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

A familiar face is coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World.

During D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Walt Disney Imagineers Michael Hundgen and Chris Beatty revealed new details about the Indiana Jones attraction coming soon to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park at Walt Disney World Resort.

The new attraction will be titled Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, taking riders on a thrilling journey beneath an ancient temple ruin.

And in a surprise video announcement, Harrison Ford revealed that he will be the model for the Indiana Jones animatronic, making this the first time his face has appeared on a Disney attraction anywhere in the world.

Located in the lush new area of Tropical Americas, the attraction will feature an original storyline that invites guests to step into the world of ancient Maya. Visitors will rendezvous with Dr. Jones, who is exploring the mysterious temple near a once water-filled cave called a cenote. Per local legend, the area leads directly to the Maya Underworld and is protected by a serpentine creature called the Tsukán. During the adventure, riders will face perils like monstrous bats, larger-than-life scorpions, and — what else? — snakes.
