Nathalia Holt spotlights three integral members of the Industrial Light & Magic team.

In her article, “The Women of Star Wars (It’s Not Who You Think),” Nathalia Holt of The New York Times spotlights Industrial Light & Magic’s Supervisor of Research and Development Rachel Rose, Senior Layout Artist Paige Warner, and Executive Vice President and General Manager Lynwen Brennan.

Holt points out ILM’s high number of women in company leadership, accounting for 60% of such roles across the studio, which is unusual when compared to the rest of the industry. “The first step is for people in leadership to say this is not acceptable,” Brennan would say.

Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy would be quoted, “There is no doubt that the visual effects community and film industry as a whole need to be more inclusive and equitable […] We are determined to strive every day to build a much more diverse and inclusive company. We will be better for it and the industry will be stronger because of it.”
