Monkey Island Sets Sail for Colossal Crossover with Sea of Thieves

Eyes on the horizon, Sea of Thieves players! Monkey Island requests permission to come aboard.

Rare and Lucasfilm Games announced today that a thrilling Monkey Island crossover experience is coming to the shared-world pirate adventure hit Sea of Thieves. Called The Legend of Monkey Island, players can look forward to three brand new Tall Tales where they’ll tour and explore treasured Monkey Island locations, beginning with Mêlée Island, and interact with iconic characters, including Guybrush Threepwood. According to executive producer Joe Neate, “Throughout The Legend of Monkey Island you’ll solve puzzles, tussle with adversaries, and tackle unexpected trials as you strive to put right situations that have gone bizarrely wrong and confront a looming peril born of powers from both worlds.” Check out the trailer below!

This collaboration follows Monkey Island Easter eggs that Rare included in the game as a tip of the tricorn to the Lucasfilm Games classic. Get ready for a new swashbuckling adventure — the two titles officially meet when the first Tall Tale arrives July 20, free to players who own any Sea of Thieves Edition as well as Xbox Game Pass members.
