As Vice President, Franchise Story & Creative Strategy at Lucasfilm, Steve Blank guides narrative development, ensures cohesive storytelling, and builds a multiplatform creative strategy across video games, publishing, parks, online, and immersive experiences. His extensive creative credits include overseeing the narrative construction for major video games such as Star Wars Battlefront II, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Survivor, Star Wars Outlaws, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Star Wars Squadrons, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and more. Additionally, he served as the co-creator and co-executive producer of the live-action game show Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge.
Before Lucasfilm, Steve worked at Nickelodeon as a Marketing Manager, working on content such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Legend of Korra, and SpongeBob SquarePants, as well as helping oversee the network’s presence at both San Diego and New York Comic Cons. He also spent time in the tech sector during a brief stint as a Partner Brand Manager at Google. Steve’s journey at Lucasfilm began in the summer of 2014 when he joined the Marketing team, quickly helping to launch the animated series Star Wars Rebels.
A lifelong Star Wars fan, Steve grew up watching and loving the original trilogy on VHS with his family. His connection to the saga was cemented after attending a midnight opening of Star Wars: The Phantom Menace, where he was instantly captivated by Darth Maul. Today, he brings that same lifelong fandom to his daily work, and is incredibly passionate about telling new, compelling stories within the Star Wars galaxy for fans both old and new.
Beyond his core creative and strategic responsibilities, Steve is deeply committed to fostering an inclusive workplace and proudly serves as the Executive Champion of Lucas Pride, Lucasfilm’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group.
