Commemorating 30th Anniversary of the Star Wars Saga, Weekend Festivities to Offer Previews of Upcoming Entertainment, Celebrity Appearances, and Special Surprises for Fans of All Ages
LONDON and SAN FRANCISCO --- The biggest Star Wars party in the galaxy is coming to London from 13th July for a weekend filled with entertainment, excitement and adventure.
When STAR WARS CELEBRATION EUROPE lands at London's ExCeL Centre, fans from Europe and around the world will gather to mark the 30th anniversary of the epic adventure saga, which debuted in the U.S. on 25th May 1977 and opened at London's Dominion Theatre on 26th December 1977.
To mark this milestone year, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Cards Inc. are preparing three days of Star Wars events the likes of which Europe has never seen. Planned activities include:
- Special previews of two highly anticipated new Star Wars projects: The Force Unleashed, the next chapter of the Star Wars Saga, from LucasArts; and The Clone Wars, the upcoming television series from Lucasfilm Animation;
- "The Vader Project," a re-imagining of the iconic Darth Vader helmet by some of today's hottest pop and underground artists;
- Opening Ceremonies on Friday, 13th July, with a centrepiece outdoor screening of the movie that started it all -- Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope;
- Presentation of comedian Charles Ross's acclaimed One-Man Star Wars stage show;
- The "Jedi Training Academy," where young fans can visit a recreation of Dagobah and learn how to wield a lightsaber in true Jedi fashion;
- Appearances by favorite actors and personalities who have helped create the Star Wars Saga;
- More entertainment, presentations, events and soon-to-be-announced surprises -- including some that won't be revealed until they happen.
STAR WARS CELEBRATION EUROPE is expected to draw tens of thousands of fans from around Europe and throughout the world, and follows the remarkably successful

"This is the first time we've ever brought an official Star Wars fan event to Europe, and we've got an amazing three days in store for everyone who attends, whether they're a diehard Star Wars fan or they are looking for something truly fun and unique to do with the entire family."
