Industrial Light & Magic received 13 nominations from the Visual Effects Society for the 2003 Visual Effects Awards, which will be presented on Feb. 18 in Hollywood. The nominations included Outstanding Visual Effects in a Visual Effects Driven Motion Picture for ILM's work on Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.

George Lucas will also receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the show, which will be held at the Hollywood Palladium.

In addition to ILM's effects-work nominations, two ILM projects were nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male or Female Actor in an Effects Film: Ludivine Sagnier for Peter Pan and Keira Knightly for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.
